3 WIDTHS
Klaveness offers different widths on selected lasts — narrow, standard, and wide. These volume options can address as many customisation needs as possible while keeping the style's original shape and features.
-
BELLOWS TONGUE
A Bellows Tongue is a large folding tongue permanently attached to the top and sides of the shoe upper. It protects from snow, water, and sand while increasing insulation.
-
CUT-TO-LENGTH STRAP
Most people prefer a set of Velcro straps as their fastening system, mainly because they are simple for children and older people to use.
To broaden the adjustment length, Klaveness offers extra-long Velcro straps marked with different length options for cutting. The user can cut off the excess, allowing the length to be adjusted in a controlled way.
-
DOUBLE VELCRO STRAP WITH RETURN
Klaveness uses two sets of opposite fastening return straps for further closure and adjustability. This solution also widens the opening and aids in putting on and taking out of shoes.
One obtains a reinforced closure and an optimised adjustment by returning the strap through a loop, acting as a pulley system.
-
DOUBLE ZIPPER
This dual-side zipper closure adds functionality and warrants a wide opening to footwear for easy put on and take off.
-
ICE SOLE WITH PATENTED TWISTABLE STUD PART
Klaveness developed a solution to prevent slipping accidents - a significant problem, especially among older people.
This ice sole system is an easily twistable piece built into the bottom of the sole.
If you need increased grip when walking on icy surfaces, twist it to the metal studs side; for versatile indoor walking, turn it to the opposite side.CLICK TO SEE THE INSTRUCTIONS OF USE
Position the handle to one side of the cradle.
Rotate the handle to enter the other side over the top corner of the cradle.
Place the handle inside the cradle.
Don’t pull the strap very hard.
-
PATENTED ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM FOR VELCRO WITH RETURN
This patented system, developed by Klaveness, is available in a wide range of stock footwear and can be used in orthopaedic styles.
To broaden the extension of adjustment, we offer extra-long cuttable Velcro straps. After setting the desired length, the unused part of the strap must be cut off, resulting in nicely finished ending seams.
CLICK TO SEE THE INSTRUCTIONS OF USEInsert the wooden stick in the "adjustment tunnel".
Push and pull the strap until adjusted to the desired length.
Test the adjustment by placing the strap in place. Remove the stick.
Cut off the excess Velcro.
It's ready to use!
If, by accident, the strap goes out of the "adjustment tunnel":
Attach the stick to the rough side of the Velcro.
Insert the strap into the "adjustment tunnel" using the wooden stick as a guide and pull it back in.
-
REMOVABLE 3MM EXTRA FITTING INSOLE
This adjustment inlay is used to regulate the interior volume of the shoe.
Some footwear requires more volume than usual to accommodate correctional foot orthotics. -
REMOVABLE FOOTBED
Footbeds are essential in creating comfortable shoes and providing cushion, comfort, and moisture management.
Removable footbeds are particularly beneficial for those needing custom-made foot orthotics. They can also be detached for airing and replaced with a new pair when they wear out.
-
VELCRO STRAP WITH RETURN
This feature adds functionality to the Velcro® strap by returning it through a metallic loop. This loop acts as a pulley system, absorbing force in friction around the tight bend, resulting in reinforced closure and optimised adjustment.
-
WATERPROOF
Footwear with this feature includes a W-tex water-repellent membrane, which enhances its resistance to water and ensures that feet stay dry and comfortable in wet or icy conditions.
-
ZIPPER
Zippers, which consist of two tracks of metal teeth that interlock via a central pulley, are always the right solution for those who have difficulties fastening footwear. They simplify and speed up taking off and putting on shoes, allowing the exact fit each time.
-
BOA® FIT SYSTEM
BOA® is an instant, single-handed, fine-tuning closure system that optimises fit and provides precision and control. It is an alternative to traditional shoelaces.
It delivers a smooth and even closure whilst minimising pressure points.
BOA® IS EASY TO USE
PULL UP FOR QUICK RELEASE

VIBRAM® SOLE
Vibram is an Italian-based company that has designed high-performance soles with unmatched durability, stability and slip resistance.
Klaveness includes part of the extensive Vibram range of soles and tracks in selected styles.
-
DIAL-FASTENER
A dial-fastener is a twist-lock system that is composed of an adjustable knob for easy on-off, strong nylon laces and low-friction lace guides.
It is optimised to improve comfort, adaptability and fine-tuning and is particularly suitable for individually made footwear, as it enables higher levels of customisation.
-
WATER-REPELLENT CONSTRUCTION
Footwear with this symbol was designed to include a waterproof membrane (W-tex). Specific materials, construction features, and production methods can enhance footwear's resistance to water.
-
