CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Cleaning, caring for, and protecting your footwear are essential to prolong its durability and comfort.
Remove the footbed (if removable) or foot orthotic before washing. Hand-wash with lukewarm water (max 40°C) and soap. Do not machine wash. Drying should be slow and take place at room temperature. Avoid direct heat, as it can cause cracking in the leather. Avoid exposing shoes to direct sunlight or placing them near sources of heat.
Store your footwear in a dry and well-aired place.
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR SHOES BECOME WET DUE TO WATER OR PERSPIRATION
Start by removing loose footbeds. Using a dry rag or towel, clean excess water from the outside of the shoe. Put some newspaper or a small towel inside the shoe to dry it and draw the moisture out, replacing the moist paper whenever needed. Never place the shoes near a heat source; let them air dry slowly at room temperature. When they feel dry, clean and condition with leather cream and polish.
FOOTWEAR CARE
It's crucial that a qualified professional regularly examines your prescribed footwear. Their expertise will ensure that the product continues to serve its clinical purpose effectively.
Regularly check your feet for any discomfort. If you notice marks, redness, or changes caused by the footwear, it's crucial to contact the prescribing physician immediately to prevent potential health issues.
Frequently check your footwear before wearing it. Look for rough edges, ridges, creases, etc., in the upper or sole. Have it repaired before excessive wear or damage.
It's advisable to wear two pairs of shoes on alternate days whenever possible, as this allows sweat to dry out, reducing the risk of foot-related health issues.
Remove loose footbeds overnight to allow them to dry.
Use a shoe horn to prevent unnecessary wear and to keep your shoes' shape when sliding on and off.
