WHAT IS FIA?

Footwear with Individual Adjustments (FIA): standard adaptations on standard lasts.

FIA can include specific standardised adaptations based on our selection of styles and standard lasts. It is the solution for the most common foot problems.

Among the available style options, you can start by choosing a last, followed by the upper material/colour, lining and sole.

Klaveness offers a wide diversity of Standard Soles for every last; some are available for different widths.

If you can't find a Standard Sole that fits your shoe, we also present a selection of EVA Soles (Built or Milled).

STANDARD SOLES

Standard Soles are pre-made soles that are compatible with Klaveness standard lasts.

Each sole has different characteristics, such as heel height and material composition.

Selecting a heel height close to your last heel height will deliver the best results.

BUILT EVA SOLES

Built and Milled EVA Soles are highly versatile, fitting all lasts, widths and sizes. The heel height is always defined by:

• The heel height of the last (or)
• The one specified in the order

We build each midsole from an EVA block to the required height and configuration according to the order. A welt is attached, and a track is assembled as a separate part of the construction.
The standard EVA is Shore ≈50.

MILLED EVA SOLES

The midsole unit is milled from an EVA block and is shaped according to your requirements.

Milled soles are produced without layers of material and glue. They do not need a separate welt, as the wall in the milled EVA acts as a cup, concealing some of the footwear's visible height.
The standard EVA is Shore ≈50.

Benefits:

• Conceals shoe volume by adding depth to the sole;
• There is no need for a separate welt—it is milled from the same EVA block as the midsole. Fewer glued layers result in a more flexible and appealing sole;
• Overall, it results in a lighter and more flexible sole;
• It adapts to any last—even with different left and right foot lasts, you can achieve a similar design.
